Merchant Navy Medal 2007

The Merchant Navy are proud to announce the recipients of the Medal as follows:

  • Captain G. Black, lately Master, DUBLIN VIKING (Norfolk Line) for services to merchant shipping, especially Irish Sea ferries.
  • Captain B. Campbell, Master TENACIOUS, (Jubilee Sailing Trust) for services to sea training, especially for those with physical disabilities.
  • Chief Engineer S.G. Clews, Head of Discipline, Marine Systems, BP Shipping for services to merchant shipping, especially oil tanker design and safety.
  • D. Devey, lately Member of North West Regional Committee, UK Maritime Pilots Association for services to UK and European pilotage.
  • The Revd. H. Drysdale, Chaplain, British and International Sailors’ Society, Port of Aberdeen for services to merchant seafarers (honorary).
  • J. E. Duffy, Hotel Manager, QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 (Cunard Line) for services to the prestige and success of cruise liners.
  • Commodore Sir Donald Gosling, KCVO, RNR for services to seafarers’ and maritime charities (honorary).
  • J. McKenna, Dock Foreman, Mersey Docks and Harbour Company for services to the Port of Liverpool.
  • Mrs. I. Saines, lately member of the Catering Department, Queen Victoria Seamen’s Rest, London for services to serving and retired merchant seafarers (honorary).
  • D.E.D. Prentis, MBE, Member of the Baltic Exchange, for services to shipbroking and Medway seafarers’ charities (honorary).
